Alamance County Land and Farms

Twenty percent of the agricultural property is in woodlands that provide timber opportunities and hunting for small game, turkey and deer. Fishermen can take advantage of the ponds and rivers that include Haw River, the Stony Creek Reservoir and Great Alamance Creek to catch crappie, trout, bullhead, catfish and largemouth bass. With three golf courses, golfers can tee up whenever they choose. The economic diversity of the county is apparent in its largest employers that include Labcorp, Alamance Regional Medical Center, Elon University, G K N Automotive Components, Gate City of Burlington Inc. and Honda Power Equipment. Tourism has a solid footing in the county with museums and places to learn more about the 1771 Battle of Alamance. Alamance-Burlington School System provides K-12 public education. The system was formed when the county and the city of Burlington merged their school districts. Burlington lies within both Alamance and Guilford counties. Alamance Community College provides higher education.
